What's Goin Down In Dowtown J-Town is recorded live at Third City Sound located on the third floor above Chicago Street Pub in Downtown Joliet. We want to bring to light all of the great things taking place in Joliet. There's so many genuine people making an effort to give their neighbors something valuable. We want to tell you all about it.

In episode 37 we were able to interview the owner of one of the newest Joliet businesses, Andrew Polykandriotis of Elder Brewing Company. He and his wife Mellisa have been absolutely killing it since they opened in November of 2017. They've expanded from a small tap room to now having a music room. It's been exciting to see all that they've accomplished while making a concious effort to be community orieneted. Take listen to find out What's Goin Down In Downtown J-Town.

What's Goin' Down In Downtown J-Town is recorded live from Third City Sound on the third floor above Chicago Street Pub in Downtown Joliet. We interview the musicians, artists, and business people that strive to bring greatness to our city everyday. It's not easy trying to convince people that Joliet has something to offer for entertainment much less business and networking opportunities. There's also a ton of great history to the City of Joliet. I've been meeting people and hearing stories of some great stuff that used to take place here. So come back to our podcast often while we do our best to collect as many of these stories as we can. We now also have vidcasts featuring these same topics on our YouTube channel.

In Episode 36, Richard Fredrickson of the City Center Partnership Marketing Committee of Joliet gives us the inside scoop of what events we can expect through the end of the year in Downtown Joliet. There's so many new things as well as some old favorites happening this year, and he only covered the major events. I'll tell ya, we'd really like to have Richard back on the show for an interview of his own. This guy has some great stories along with the charisma to tell em properly. We hope to see you out at some of these great events! Follow some of the links below to find out.........What's Goin' Down In Downtown J-Town.

We released a song from OGO's "Dead Tree" along with a song from Riverhorse's "Who Gets the Last Laugh On Doomsday?". These two songs sound great! We got the title track from Condron and the Gang. Riverhorse gave us "Names". We also have a bunch of information about some shows coming up February 10th, 2018. There will be some links to everything below.....

What's Goin' Down In Downtown J-Town is recorded live at Third City Sound in Downtown Joliet above our favorite local original music hub, Chicago Street Pub. We hope to share with all of you as many activities as possible that are hosted within our community.

In Episode 34 we feature local musician and teacher, Tim Placher. This guy has been getting some attention from all of the great shows that he's been putting together. His biggest event is slowly turning into a festival. He puts on a party every year for the last thirteen years that he calls Shindig At The Shanty. Tons of great acts that you'd normally see at Hopstring Fest have been finding their way to his stage. On February 2nd, 2018 Tim will be hosting a Traveling Wilburys tribute show at Chicago Street Pub. David Francis and myself will be among many of those same local artists performing tunes from not only the Traveling Wilburys, but of each artists' individual efforts. Enjoy this episode, and we hope to see you at the show!!

In episode 33 we feature the Manhattan Illinois festival, Down On the Farm. This two day fest has top of the line pro level local music, food, and beer. They offer weekend passes and camping options.

The people that run this fest were extremely friendly. The staff made us feel right at home while we were there. It's probably because the farm IS someone's home.

There was plenty of parking with a ton of space to get in and out as often as you need.

I counted over twenty vendor booths that sold a great variety of food and beer in addition to the unusual stuff you can get at fests like these.

The musicians that came out to play were no joke. These were the kinds of bands that make ya wanna run home to practice.

We did our best to make this a video podcast. It just didn't work out. We did find another group of people to help our efforts to record videocasts in the future. We do, in fact already have one booked for recording. We're really excited to get it out to you!

This fest took place that last weekend in July of 2017. All of the events spoken about in this episode have already happened. But, you should take note of what they were and look  for them in the now. Enjoy this episode!!

Our podcast is recorded live at Third City Sound in Downtown Joliet on the third floor above Chicago Street Pub. We've met so many great people from all walks of life at The Pub. With venues like The Forge close by, I've even run into some of my musical idols. We thought it would be a great idea to start documenting all of the, shall I say, adventures at Chicago Street Pub. It seemed like a good idea to start talking about the efforts of people outside of our friend circle, too. There have been a lot of good times had, and new friends made. We hope you'll like listening to us discover the hidden gems in our neighborhoods.

Episode 32 features Chris Broach of Braid, and currently of SNST(Sunset). We convinced Chris to perform a rare solo acoustic performance from of two SNST songs. The interview hits a pretty wide variety of topics, so there's a little somethin' for everyone. Chris came on the podcast to promote a show at Third City Sound on Saturday December 9th, 2017. Great friends of ours The Vadevileins and Ovef Ow are on the bill, as well. Hopefully you'll read this and make it out. If you're reading this after that date let this serve as a time capsule. Enjoy Episode 32!

We started this podcast to document all of our friends music. We decided to interview anybody that had a passion for their work. We strive to give a voice to people not heard of by the masses. We want to give a little perspective on all of the great things going on right underneath your noses. This show is recorded live on the third floor above our favorite bar, Chicago Street Pub. Come take a listen to What's Goin' Down In Downtown J-Town.

In Episode 31 we met Landspeeder. These Star Wars themed nutballs were hilarious. We had a great time having them on to promote their upcoming shows and 7" vinyl release.

As fate would have it, a large group of like-minded community driven people found their way to the sleeping City of Joliet. There has been an awakening taking place here. You can find some great spots to eat and drink while listening to local musicians. There's even a few spots to see some well known acts, too. There have been top notch festivals suitable for the whole family that are just insane amounts of fun. The people putting all of these things together do it because they love it, and it shows. It all keeps getting better as more new businesses keep popping up. This podcast is here to let you know What's Goin' Down In Downtown J-Town.

We got back into the studio after a seven week break to interview John Simpson. This guy comes out to almost as many shows and events around here as I do. This guy was behind the New Orleans North festival that's held each year. He does a ton of event planning with Bicentennial Park along with The Joliet Chamber of Commerce. He's been a great help and a tireless supporter. Listen to what this man has to say about it

The Prison City Brigade contacted us to get on our show to promote their show at The Forge. At the moment I'm writing this to you all, the show is in three days. We encountered a ton of digital glitches. We would have had to redo the entire episode in order to remedy that. It was important to us to get this episode out in time for their show. We will fix these issues, and come back with a vengeance! You'll experience some audible pops. Otherwise, the interview went well! We'll get these guys back on for their fans, and do it up proper. Enjoy episode 29!!

From our view on the third floor above Chicago Street Pub, we at Third City Sound would like to give you a glimpse of..............What's Goin' Down In Downtown J-Town.

I went to Lincoln-Way High School with Craig Calderone, Jim Major, and TJ Oehmen(I actually called him by the wrong last name for about nineteen years. Awesome). They have had the opportunity to become a part of a music legend of the nineties, Green Jello. A guy named Bill Manspeaker was the mastermind behind the 1989 MTV music video, Three Little Pigs. He and guitarist Billy Youngblood were cool enough to call in via cell phone to join us on the show. Due to some technical difficulties, there is a massive amount of editing in this particular episode. You may notice one or two inconsistencies. We do apologize. It really was a great episode. It was really entertaining, and very adult....
