We have been meeting new people all the time that are creating communities that are willing to support one another in each of our endeavors. We've focused mainly on music in this show because that's where Dave and I come from. We are in the music and entertainment industry. The place that our friends go to play is Chicago Street Pub in Downtown Joliet. It was there that so many community driven people started gather. You can't help being swept up in the energy of everyone's excitement. We all realized what a wonderful place we could all create together. That is the inspiration for us to show you a glimpse of What's Goin' Down In Downtown J- Town.

In Episode 19, we are happy to introduce to you some music from the West Chicago area. These guys heard about our show, and asked us if they could come on. Joe Loveit even came all the way out to the Monday Night Acoustic Open Mic at the beloved Chi'er hosted by Alex Hoffer. These guys take pride in their grass roots aproach to the business side of music. I really like the tunes. They're solid guys that take what they do seriously, as they strive to evolve.

In Episode 18, we brought Charlie Champene up to Third City Sound in Downtown Joliet. Charlie has been a staple of Chicago Street Pub for many years. He's trying to stay involved whether he's setting up shows, running sound, or playing a few tunes. We had a good time up there , and we hope that you'll enjoy this episode as muc as we did.

What's Goin' Down In Downtown J-Town hopes to give you a glimpse of all the great things that Joliet has to offer. It has been growing strong for the past decade. There are new things to see, hear, and well....tons of good stuff to taste. The people behind all of this would like to bring back the trend of community. Everyone is striving to give you the highest quality in everything that they do. We mostly have musicians on at the moment. However, we've been lining up some interviews with visual artists. We've even convinced some of the area's business owners to be on the show. All of it gets recorded live from the third floor in the same building as our favorite bar, Chicago Street Pub. The studio is called Third City Sound. They do great work up there , and we are grateful to be using this facility for our show.

In Episode 17, we are proud to introduce to you yet another veteran musician of this scene. Allison Flood is going to be the opening act for the next installment of the Local Music Monday Concert Series. She was very easy to talk to. Her music will give ya the chills. She has a great sound that is very honest and sincere. Take a listen and enjoy.

Our show is recorded live at Third City Sound on the third floor above Chicago Street Pub in Downtown Joliet. We love the culture that has been taking shape over the last ten years. The story is long but worthy of your attention. After we get a bunch of musicians on as guests we're gonna make our way theough some of our favorite bars, venues, and restaurants. After we give you the tour of Joliet, we'd like to introduce you to some of our great friends from all over the area doing the same.

In Episode 16, Mr. Ellis Wright jumps up to tell us how he came to be such a staple of our scene. He's realitively new to our family. We can't imagine making music without him now. We will post links to each of the bands that he's part of so you can find some music of his. Alex Hoffer ended up being our guest host, too.

We take great pride in the community that's grown in Downtown Joliet. There's new restaurants, music, artists, and festivals popping up all of the time now. The people building and creating all of this are making sure that the trends lean back towards higher quality and longevity. We all are finding ways to support the local economy even though some of us have drastically different views. We are supporting each other. We are all contributing to it in some way or another. It would be great to see this spread. This show would like to give you an opportunity to explore what it is that so many of us have called home. The friends we've made in other towns aren't going to be left out either. Not only is it our goal to show you what we do in Joliet, but how people are creating a new culture in every place that we've made a connection.

In our fifteenth episode we get to interview the man we thank every week for letting us use Third City Sound to record the show, William Phillip Aldridge. We mostly call him Bill. He is the head of the studio. Nothing goes on unless he says so. Although, he's never really said no to much.

This show focuses on how Third City came to be, and also how Bill got into music and recording. We had fun on this one. you're gonna like it even though there's no music. We'll get him back on for another to hear him shred the bass.

Here's another episode recorded live for you from Third City Sound in Downtown Joliet. We give you the show the same way it happened. Our hope is that you can discover some of the music that been going on in this area for over ten years. The hub of it all, Chicago Street Pub, has become a place that people can go to find something genuine. The whole Joliet area has alot of new places and old secrets that have so much to offer. We want to tell you about all of it. Music was what got me to start coming down. I thought it was fitting to start off telling you about the music

In Episode 14, Dave and I talk to Chicago Farmer. He has been a fan favorite for years at The Chi'er. He was really easy to talk to, and his songwriting is at the top level. He's a hell of a performer as he proves in the two tunes he did for the show. I hope everyone enjoys what he does as much as we all do.

Our show is recorded live at Third City Sound in Downtown Joliet on the third floor above Chicago Street Pub. We are doing our best to introduce you to as much local music as possible. We have also been inspired by area artists that have been emerging. So many people have been coming together to find away to do things better, and to respect those who might be trying a different method than our own. we do this in hopes to reach a higher quality of life for humans as a whole. We do this one step at a time.

In this episode we get to some serious sarcastic banter in addition to Patrick Lyons' smooth songwriting and execusion. We get to hear about his time in Austin up through what to watch for in the near future. This episode had us joking around more than usual, and we think you'll appreciate that......

What's Goin' Down In Downtown J-Town is recorded at Third City Sound in Downtown Joliet on the third floor in the same building as the hub of this scene, Chicago Street Pub.

There's a new life beginning to grow as the food, entertainment, the arts, and passionate business owners are coming on full force. Those of us who are becoming tired of the corporate facade are banding together. It's this show's purpose to spread the word about what we do here in hopes to find more like minded individuals.

In episode eleven, Pete Jive puts on a great show. His songs will hold ya for the duration. He's quite a character, and I always enjoy talking to him. I really think you'll enjoy the Jive Pete has to offer.

Our show is recorded live at Third City Sound in Downtown Joliet above the hub for original music in our area, Chicago Street Pub. We believe that you, the listener, would love to be a part of What's Goin Down In Downtown J-Town. There has been such an enormous change here. We want to let everyone catch a glimpse of the community that all of us have become part of.

In this episode we are excited to introduce you to Pat Otto and Bridget Cavanaugh. These two have been a memeber of some the bands that go this entire music scene rolling. I have had the pleasure of being in bands with the both of them. They really taught me alot about playing music that was outside of my norm. Dave and Bridget are currently in a band together called the Big Lagnaippe. Pat is in, like, thirty bands. listen and enjoy. Go hunt these folks down!
